A magnitude-7.7M earthquake triggered the 3-meter wave that washed hundreds of homes into the sea late on 25th October 2010. A tsunami that pounded Mentawai Islands in West Sumatra killed at least 408 people left more than 300 people missing and 4,000 people homeless.
On 26th October 2010 Mount Merapi has spew ashes and poisonous gases after the initial eruption.  In additional to the treat of hit clouds and burning lava, cold lava is also a treat to residents around Mount Merapi.   The Merapi's explosive blasts have killed 40 civilian and more than 50,00 people have to evacuate from their home to safety camps outside the danger zone.
